Looking for a designerWe are looking for a young graphic designer (20-25) who has an excellent motion graphics and design background using Photoshop, After Effects and possibly some sort of 3D to work in London. Does anyone know where the best place to post an advertisement is?
Re: Looking for a designer
At 25? Doubt it, or are you loooking for a cheap solution in wage terms, as this seems to be the norm today. But prove me wrong. Regards Brian, PS Nearly 60, been in this business ALL my life, even before computers were used, and yes Adobe Certified, MM certified and doesnt work cheap.
If you run this ad in the USyou are certainly looking at a lawsuit. One does NOT specify an age requirement. Can you spell Age Discrimination? hmmmmmm?
No, but I know one.He qualifies, is now in Cambridge, would like London.
frimlinblog-owner@yahoogroups.com - That's his e-mail address. He's a very talented and intelligent young man. Martha Brummett Denver CO
I meet all of the requirements you seek, but I'm still curious as to which London you mean. I am in Ontario and can be reached at johnstonious@yahoo.ca. Thanks.
Position availableI'm not looking for a position, but your request is call age discrimination.
Jackie
Uhh, I think that he/she wanted the gaphic designer to be a certain age, because people between 20-25 have a certain STYLE or the way they design stuff... I could be wrong though.
I wish I could meet any of those requirements. I'm thinking of becoming a graphic artist, btw. But all I have at the moment is Photoshop.
Ya, "style". I have been outputting files of recent grads in the London area over the past 2-3 weeks for a show being put on here, and I can tell you that their "style" is a mess. Fonts missing, linked photos missing, 4 colour blacks, etc. This "style" of which you speak must be "Muddled Messes Done In A Huge Rush To Drive Prepress People To Drink"... I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I have a feeling they were originally looking for the "cheap" way to get a designer.
Good Luck with that. I hope you can get your hands on some real programs. Stay away from Corel Draw, Publisher (if you want to be a desktop publisher, then, fine, use them), and only venture to use InDesign if you MUST. Print shops have yet to really embrace it, and Quark 6 is set to launch soon. If you can get your hands on Illustrator and Quark to go with Photoshop, then you will have a good start for design/print and from there you can start to play with web apps. Just be sure to remember that a good designer double checks their own work just to make it easier for the person who has to produce their work. Aaryn
Re: Looking for a designerHi,
I suggest that you have make an advertisement for it. Now if you already have that advertisement its not hard for you to find out anymore. And if somebody saw it they would go through your office just to apply for the position that you are looking for. That's it.
Re: Looking for a designerI suggest that you have post the add to any classified site on net,it is the easiest way to find out your wright candidate.
