need help installing

Post by simmog »

Tried to install ContrasMaster but everywhere I install the folder om my computer/laptop I get this error:
Image

installed on C so no change made in installation directory (deinstalled)
installed directly into the Corel folder (deinstalled)
nstalled into the plugin folder of my psp-files in My documents
but every time I get the above error.

Can someone please help me.
I use Paint Shop Pro X2. Laptop has Vista, Desktop XP

Really don't know what to do to solve this

Thx for your help in this

I am not quite sure why Plugin Installer did not find PSP on your computer.

The best solution is probably to set the path to the ContrastMaster installation folder in PSP directly. To do that run PSP and go to File > Preferences > File Locations > Plugin Filter. There you can specify the ContrastMaster installation path. After that ContrastMaster will show up on the menu in PSP.

Please have a look at the ContrastMaster installation folder. Is there a file named ContrastMaster102.8bf. If not, then you need to install again.

Did you look in the PhotoWiz sub menu in PSP? That is where ContrastMaster is installed.

there is a file named Contrastmaster102.8bf in the ContrastMaster folder.

Also tried your other option of the PluginFilter pointed directly to the folder of ContrastMaster. After this all my Plugin-Filters were gone :(

Still no solution found myself
:(

You should no remove one of the plugin paths that already exists in PSP's preferences. If you simply add another path, then your current plugins will not be gone. I suspect that the path that you removed pointed to the plugins sub folder in the PSP folder.

I did not remove the original path in psp, I just added ContrastMaster. After adding all my plugins were gone.

if you look into the plugin.ini file:
ContrastMaster 1.02
ContrastMaster
0
0
1
ContrastMaster102.8bf
3
CMdialog.ini
ContrastMaster.ini
CMcloak.ini

there is no CMdialog.ini and CMcloak.ini anywhere to be found on my pc.
Could this be the problem?
if so the installer is incomplete (my opion)

The mentiond .ini file are created by ContrastMaster itself after you have run it. So if you did not run ContrastMaster yet, you should also not find these .ini files on your system.

At the moment I have no idea what is going wrong on your system. I also never had a similar problem reported from another user so far.

You could try redownloading ContrastMaster. Maybe the installer was corrupted during download somehow.

I already downloaded ContrastMaster 1.02 and ContrastMaster Demo.
Both give the same problem.
I don't know if there is another version left to download?

So far, thank you for your effort in helping me.
I think this filter does not like me at all :P

Do you have a firewall or other security software installed that may block access to the registy or certain folders? That may explain the problems.
