Edit Filters Unlimited Databases

Post by Leslie »

Hi, All

New to forum, but not to The Plugin Site.
Been wandering around here for years.

I was wondering if there was a way to re-name a database in FU2?

I have more than one filter in a database, and would love to be able to add names on the database. Much easier to find the filters I need. It's becoming a royal pain as I now have to look thru 5 or 6 databases.
I did finally just do a filter a page, but that is becoming cumbersome.

Also, if I delete a database it still shows up, albeit greyed out. Is there a way to keep it from appearing at all? After all, it has been deleted.

Thanks for any and all help.

Leslie

Filter Unlimited 2 crashes here under Windows 7 64-bit when I click the Database button. I guess that is a bug. It seems that Filter Unlimited 2 was not updated since 2003, so it was never modified for Windows Vista/7/8, which explains the problem.

Other than that it seems that the databases are located as sub folders in the FUN sub folder of your plugin folder. Maybe renaming these sub folders will change the database names. But that is just a guess. I cannot test it because of the crash.

If you are looking for an alternative to Filter Unlimited, have a look at Plugin Galaxy 3, which also runs Filter Factory effects and produces higher quality results. It can import .ffx files from Filters Unlimited, but does not support all Filter Unlimited effects yet.

That's odd.
I run win 7, 64bit with psp X2, X3, and X6 and have no problem.
Had no problems whatsoever with Vista, either.

I did have to fix the import button when it wouldn't work, and also had to do the fix for X3 that had the 3rd patch installed.

Thanks for the info about where the databases are located.

I will give that a try and let you know.

How do you fix the import button? I have tried everything I can think of but can't find anywhere about fixing the import button. I have now lost all the filters I had in my filters unlimited.

Thank you so much for your help.

Here's the site to get your fix.
If I remember correctly, it wouldn't download from FF.

Sorry it took me a while.
Good luck.
