I just checked, and I found that ChromAcute also works in PSP.

Corel hires people with MBAs in marketing (easiest curriculum in business), who got BBAs in college (pretty worthless "degree"), and took as few academic subjects as they could in high school. I bet they don't pay them much, so that any of these people who can read, write, and think minimally leave ...

The plugin you get from that link is "GrowCutMask" v1.1 --so, yes, the result is a mask. I think you can use it this way: -make a duplicate layer of your image -use GrowCutMask on that layer. The result is the mask, and below that in the layers palette should be your original-image layer. Activate (...

Thanks for that information! I moved the GrowCut2.0 into the folder you suggested, but I got the same response ('incorrectly installed or missing files' message) from PSPX. But after searching and searching, I found a site with GrowCutMask !! It is here: http://www.photofiltregraphic.com/02presentat...

I've pretty much given up... The GrowCut developer answered my email and gave me three new DLLs, which I put in the PSP (Program Files) folders and in the System32 folder; GrowCut shows in the list of plugins--not grayed out--but neither PSP5 nor PSPX can access the plugin. I'd sure be happy if some...

I checked Corel's site and see no mention of 16 bit support. Go to http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_alp.php , use PSP in the dropdown, and 16 bit in the search box. But it's not much help at all, and when I asked them about it in a support-email-request, the answer ...

Thanks, Harry. GrowCut is just the .8bf file, but your comment made me look for it, and it's in PSPX\Plugins\iPhotoSoft\GrowCut\2.0\ --which seems to me rather far in for PSP to find it in \Plugins. I'll try moving the .8bf into the PSPX\Plugins directory and see what happens. And since it's an .8bf...

Harry, PSPX can process 16-bit images. Are you saying that Corel has fixed it so that plugins that need 16-bit images won't work with the PSP versions that support 16-bit? I do not doubt you, but I want to be sure before I have a new anti-corel apoplectic fit. (People with PSP are using Photomatix, ...

GrowCut 2.0 Plugin isn't working in PSP v10
I'm using PSP v10.03 (all patches except the one for Vista, which I don't need). I installed GrowCut2.0 for the 2nd time (1st time, I put it into my own plugins directory, got the error message, so this time I let it install itself into Corel\...PSPX\plugins). This version of GrowCut, the developers...

Choose Save (download). If you don't have a folder for downloads, save it to your desktop. Also copy & save the instructions for the upgrade patch that Corel has on its website. Then close all your applications and --double-click on the icon for the upgrade patch that's on your desktop OR --use Cont...

Re: PSP - JASC vs Corel
Does any one else agree that PSP upgrades no longer look to provide enhanced development and features for professional and serious users, but look to line the pockets of Corel? I think that Corel's emphasizing the photo-related features of PSP has caused people to overlook the other aspects; they a...

Go to the PSP Users Group Forum http://www.pspug.org/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl? , tell which version of PSP you're using, and ask. (I upgraded to PSPX recently from PSP5, and I just don't want the hassle of the bigger program's getting fussy with plugins. I use all my plugins with PSP5.) The people at P...

And now that link doesn't work anymore. You can get the file--it's a .doc file this time!--atLuv2CraftGinny wrote:When I click on the link it is a .rar file and not a pdf file.

Angle/Intensity of Lighting Plugin
I'm pretty sure I have the plugin I'm looking for, but either I've forgotten which one it is or it's one I haven't re-installed. I want to change the perceived lighting on an image. It can be done with Photoshop "Lighting Effects" but I use an old version of PSP and lots of plugins. I think I rememb...

Thumbnail tool (Harry, please move this)
The other day someone posted about needing a plugin or application to make thumbnail images (that could then be clicked on to show the larger images), and I thought I'd seen notice of one... Now that I remember where, I don't know where to put this post (I've searched this site and can't find the po...

Ulead's Particle plugin needs to be installed as an application (Close all applications, go to control panel, Add Remove Software, etc. Use the drop-down "programs" not "setup programs" to find the .exe, 'cause Windows doesn't see it as a setup file, and proceed.) Then, even though it's in C:\Progra...
