Stage 1
: For this landscape example I have used Vue d'Esprit 4 software,
but you can apply the same techniques if you are using Bryce or
other 3D packages. Start off by selecting a sky for your scene.
Stage 2
: Add a terrain object and experiment with the mesh to obtain
the desired land shape.
Stage 3
: Now it's time to choose a texture. I have used number 0013 from
the Abstraction CD, as I thought it suited the "hot"
sunset feel of the scene! Apply the image to the terrain object
and play around with the settings until it looks right. I've used
spherical mapping for this one. Repeat the process for the ground
texture ... you can use a different image if you want but I've
chosen to stick with the same texture here.
Stage 4
: Add some other objects in the foreground. I have included a
dead tree to go with this theme.
Stage 5
: Render the final 3D scene. The lens flare effect here was created
within Vue, but if your 3D package doesn't support flares then
you can always add them later in Photoshop!
