Plugin Newsletter - September 2000
CONTENTS INTRODUCTION PLUGIN COMMANDER 1.50 RELEASED PLUGIN COM HQ CHAT GALAXY CONTEST 2000 - LAST CHANCE REVIEWS FREE PLUGINS AND TOOLS GRAPHICS NEWS FREEWARE OF THE MONTH
It seems that this newsletter is getting larger and larger and sent only every four weeks. One reason is that I worked hard on the latest version of Plugin Commander (see below!). Besides that there is and will be a lot of work to transfer all content from pico.i-us.com to ThePluginSite.com. I/US plans to close it and all of the other content sites they host. So as my Plugin Com HQ site at pico.i-us.com has grown very large throughout the last 3 years, there will be a lot of work to adapt the pages to the thepluginsite.com design. But it is also a challenge to present the content even better and improve the web site usability. All the best,
Eight months after the latest release, here's the newest version of Plugin Commander, the most effective and easiest way to deal with plug-ins of all kinds. As usual there's a free Light version for everyone and a commercial feature-packed Pro version. This baby developed even better than I ever planned it to be. I think, the most exciting new feature of Plugin Commander Pro is the possibility to directly execute all kinds of Photoshop-compatible 8bf plug-ins. This will give you an even better impression of your plug-in collection. It also means that you can apply plug-in effects to images and preview their effects instantly in the preview window or the thumbnail browser. Both Light and Pro Edition now recognize multi-filter plug-ins (like EyeCandy or KPT3) and also support over 30 new plug-in types from various image, animation and 3D applications. Moreover you can also define new plug-in types yourself and extend Plugin Commander's functionality. I recommend not using the 1.0x versions of Plugin Commander any more!!! They contain some serious bugs I discovered recently. For example the Convert command sometimes doesn't display an Overwrite dialog and the Size and Date columns of the File View sort the files in a way that you can't be sure which file you're actually selecting. If you already bought Plugin Commander Pro 1.x, you will soon get a separate email with instructions for obtaining this free update. For full details and for downloading the Light version go to

Colleen's Photoshop Fun Pack are five filter plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop for Macintosh that support background processing. Rotate Color rotates the color in the RGB space. Create B/W creates black and white (gray scale) images from color images. Kwick Mask creates a selection from RGB images. Adjust Saturation gives you more control over the saturation adjustment. Modulate Color modulates the HSB value of the image using the mask value. Variable Blur achieves soft-focus effects very easily. http://pw1.netcom.com/~kawahara/photoshop.html
