GALAXY CONTEST 2000 UPDATE

Thanks to all people who have participated in the contest up to now. 109 images and animations can currently be seen in the contest galleries. Recently the Texture, Greeting Card and Animation galleries have been updated with new submissions. The other three galleries (Most Creative, Best Composed and Most Impressive) are going to be updated during this week with over 60 new images.

LATEST FREE PLUGINS AND TOOLS

The Eye Candy 4000 Beta is freely available from Alienskin. Thirteen of the filters in Eye Candy 4000 are fully functional in this beta version: Chrome, Cutout, Fur, Glass, HSB Noise, Jiggle, Marble, Shadowlab, Smoke, Squint, Star, Water Drops and Weave. It is available for both Macintosh and Windows, but will work only on images smaller than 1000 x 1000 pixels.

Have a look at the 4 new DeepSpace AIM plugins: The GAMMA filter applies the accurate gamma transfer function, DENSITY provides density conversion which can be useful in creating a density mask. SPACE HUNTER is useful as the first step in editing images of unknown working space and generally for hue, saturation and white-balance corrections. USM is an Unsharp Mask filter.

Mediachance offers five free "Digital Camera Tools" for Windows on its web site. Digital Camera Enhancer uses a few image functions to enhance and clean digital images. ColorCastFX removes color casts and reveals details which are hidden in shadows. ClearSkinFX is producing perfect smooth skin of a photo portrait, while preserving the crispness of the eyes, hair or background. B/Works is a tool for creating old fashioned B/W images, Sepia or Duotone colored images and powerful dark dramatic sky. RGB Lights can produce image with amazing colors without the need of special color lights.
