As I use the CD_Utilities action (it makes CD templates), does anybody know the best way to get a data CD/DVD directory listing into Photoshop to make covers? I think it could make a cool plugin if anybody wants a challenge!

vlc is a free multimedia player available for most popular operating systems
it will open and play your dvd
more importantly it will make a screen shot in png or jpg format and place it on your desktop when you quit the player

I doubt if there is a plug in available or even if it is possible as the structure of CD Text is not a graphic nor real text.
There may be alternatives.
I tend to use SnagIt a lot for these sort of tasks. As long as you can disply the CD listing in any application you can take a screen shot of the text and save it as either text or a range of graphic formats, including Photo Shop.
If a CD cannot display text then a free application such as CDAid can extract the information from the online CD Database (Freedb)
You could also download the entire catalog listing from Freedb, a massive 350 megabyte download consisting of 2 million CD lisitngs.
