Try the clone, healing brush or similar tool and brush over the bright areas.

You might try a plug-in dedicated to this specific problem (ShineOff).

Is it normal for a camera to use up the batteries even when turned off?
I recently got a new Kodak Digital Camera, and just like every other digital camera i've ever had, it chews up the entire set of batteries while left 'off' overnight. I go to use it the next day, and the batteries are completely dead. Is this normal with digital cameras? Surely you wouldn't have to remove the batteries from a digital camera after turning it off and not using it for a day...

No, that doesn't sound normal! I've had a few digital cameras since 2000 (including a Kodak, Minolta and Sony) and none did this.

You mentioned all of your cameras have done this – I would look at the type of batteries you are using. I'm curious if you've used the same brand in all cameras. Are they rechargables?
