When I make a pattern from an image & try to fill a canvas I get a bunch of little squares. Does that mean I have to make it a seamless pattern & if so, how?

You might also be interested by the tool "pattern maker", inside Photoshop.

Thanks for the link. I was trying to do it in Photoshop. But doesn't the pattern maker make crazy patterns as opposed to a seamless pattern I want to create from my own images?
