I haven't used XXL for a while. I have version 5, Elements 12 and Lightroom 5.7. When I try to render to lightroom I get the following message: "This document contains hidden pixels. In order to avoid render problems, they are now cropped away. To restore them, please undo the render step in the History panel'"
All is not lost, though (sort of). when I continue on and get back to Lightroom, the rendered file is there, but is not a psd file, but a tiff file and is flattened as seen when I go back to Elements to check it. Strange behavior. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim Lawrence

Re: Render to Lightrom?
The document needs to be cropped to make sure that rendering to 16-bit works correctly. The rendering to 16-bit also involves flattening all layers, because Photoshop Elements supports no layers for 16-bit per channel.
So this is normal behavior. You can save the 8-bit document with the layers in case you want to edit it again in future.
