Convert to Mac

Post by perry »

I can not open the .bin files created by Plugin Commander. I am converting a plug in that works fine on a PC (Photoshop). I convert and then try to unstuff the file on my mac and I get the error from stuffit expander "File is not compressed or encrypted" and gives an option to "Try to Convert" or "Don't Try" Hitting TRY does nothing. Basically, The file won't uncompress - I've tried on both OSX and OS9 systems.
WHat do you suggest?
Thanks

You should know that the Mac plugins that Plugin Commander creates only work on MacOS Classic or MacOS 7/8/9. So you have to run Photoshop 7 and CS in Classic Mode if you under MacOS X to use these plugins. That's because Adobe didn't bother to produce a MacOS X version of Filter Factory.

Please try the following freeware tool to decode the .bin files to plugins:
http://www.mac.org/utilities/macbinary/

I never had a problem to convert .bin files with StuffIt Expander.
