I just had the unhappy experience of spending I hour on a photo using Smart Filters only to have Elements crash. This is the second time it has happened to me. Then it occurred to me that XXL has an auto save/recover feature that I forgot about (DUH). But try as I might, I can't find out where to activate it (it's late at night here and my eyes and myself are tired and I am tired of looking). Could you do me a favor and steer me in the right direction so tomorrow I can set it up so this never happens again. BTW, is there another way to recover a file after a PSE crash like a temp file somewhere on my computer. Sure would be nice to get all those really neat edits back even though I am sure I can repeat them with a lot of work.

Never I figured it out.

You can activate the Auto Recovery feature of ElementsXXL under Edit > Preferences > ElementsXXL > General.

Sorry to hear about the smart filter crashes. Did they occur with a certain filter plugin? If you have any useful information about it, let me know.
