Hi guys,

Does rotating the images in Photoshop reduces their resolution? Can someone explain why the overall file size is reduced when I rotate a particular image without even adjusting anything?

If you rotate an image at an angle that isn't a multiple of 90 degree, Photoshop needs to interpolate the image information to avoid an pixelation effect. That mean that Photoshop has to guess some pixels that are not there. As a result the image gets very slightly blurred, but isn't anything you would notice at 100% zoom. If you save the image as JPG then, the JPG file size will be a bit smaller, because of the blurring. Still I wouldn't worry about the reduced file size.
