The Plugin Site

I know this is about as basic as one can get, but can someone tell me how to load/install plugins into Photoshop? I've used the program for several years, but have never taken advantage of plugins. After finding some and downloading them, I'm not unsure what to do next.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
