I have been looking for a way to do this for quite a while. When I got my newsletter today, it occurred to me to try here.
I have some old photos that have been sitting on my mother's mantle for about 45 years. They are faded except for about a half inch around the outside of each that was under the picture frame.
Is there a pluggin (or some other method) that will take that good color and fix/help fix/unfade the entire photo?
Thank you
Is there plugin.....

Have a look at ColorWasher at http://www.thepluginsite.com/products/p ... lorwasher/
But you need to draw a selection around the faded image area before you run ColorWasher, otherwise the preserved areas will also be changed.
If you send me one of the photos, I can recommend some ColorWasher settings. You can contact me at http://thepluginsite.com/about/contact.htm

Thank you
Thank you for the advise about ColorWasher.
I have downloaded a trial and will begin experimenting with it.
I'd also like to thank you for your offer to send you a photo from which you would advise me on possible settings. If you would keep that offer open, I would first like to attempt to learn myself by experimenting (Don't worry I know not to experiment on the original file!).
If I can't make the adjustments, I will come back for additional advise.
