Howdy!

Among the images I've downloaded from the web are some that are ".art" files. They look very generic on my PC. None of the programs I have will open them, not even Photoshop! What are they and is there a Photoshop plug-in for opening this file format?

An .art file can be one of the following types:

• Xara Studio drawing
  Canon Crayola art
  Clip Art
  Ray Tracer file
  First Publisher Raster graphic
  AOL Image file

I suspect that it is an AOL image file, so you need the AOL software to view it.
