Using Edges in Photoshop will result in a black or white backgroung. How can I change my background to another color like pink or red.

If you have the edge image on an extra layer, you can e.g. use the Color Balance command to colorize it. Otherwise you have to use the magic wand to select the outer area and then fill it with another color.
