Can we change colour of a tee shirt in photoshop in such a way that the back ground remains white . the Material folds/shadows remain in place and only shirt colour changes

There are several possibilities here:

1. You can create a selection or mask that contains the t-shirt and then use e.g. the Color Balance filter to colorize only the t-shirt.

2. You use one of the selective color tool from the Image > Adjust menu, e.g. the Replace Color filter.
