Harald,
I really like LM. I've been playing with the local contrast enhancement. It has an effect that is subjectively a lot like sharpening. Could you give some insight into how local contrast enhancement might be similar/different from sharpening, and when to use one, or the other, or both?

FocalBlade 1.03 bug vs. feature
Hi Harald,
When I sharpen while the mask display is set to "x-ray negative", the open document gets replaced by the B&W mask, rather than sharpened. I'm not sure if this is what's supposed to happen, but if not, you could add this to the list of items to fix in the next release.
Cheers, John

No, I was right
Harald, I found the combination that causes the issue for me. If the image is in 16-bit/channel RGB mode, and the display option is x-ray negative, then the expand slider appears to operate opposite from the expected sense: the mask image gets blacker. If you convert the same image to 8-bit/channel,...

Expand mask
Harald, In FocalBlade 1.03, when I move the "Expand [mask]" slider to the right in (for example) the X-ray negative mask display mode, the white areas get smaller and the black area gets bigger. This seems like it's backwards. If you expand the mask, shouldn't the white areas in the X-ray negative m...

Sharpen edges while blurring surfaces
Is there a way in FocalBlade in a single step to apply sharpening to the areas encompassed by the edge mask, while at the same time blurring the surfaces? If there is, I don't see it. Looks like you can only sharpen edges/sharpen surfaces or blur edges/blur surfaces, but not sharpen edges/blur surfa...
