Thanks for your reply. Doesn't ContrastMaster also increase noise, particularly in uniform areas such as walls, sky, etc? When using CM on a beach scene I found that the sky was unacceptably turned gritty...with a bunch of small black/grey "flecks" that made a pristine sky look like what I imagine S...

Halo effect with CM
I used CM on a photo at the beach with a person in the foreground against the sand and ocean. I used "novice" mode and chose the Preview that I thought looked best. After running the full filter and getting back to Photoshop Elements 6, I noticed that there was a bit of a "halo" around the figure. C...

Are certain photos better able to take advantage of CM than others? And how does one tell by looking?

A previous post said that you updated the Mac version. I just bought and installed the Mac version today (12/12), and the version is 1.0. Did the version # not change?
